About the treatment
Vitamin B-12 is an essential vitamin. Your body uses it to turn food into energy and to make healthy red blood cells, and it has to come from your diet or from supplements.
A B-12 injection delivers the vitamin directly, as a quick shot, so it does not need to be absorbed through digestion the way a tablet does.
